Fabian Oefner is an internationally renowned Swiss artist who uses photography to bring art and science together. One of his most popular projects is titled “Disintegrating” and features amazing vehicles deconstructed.

Disintegrating is about inventing time. What you are looking at is a moment, that never existed in real life. What looks like a car falling apart is in fact a moment in time, that has been created artificially by blending hundreds of individual images together. For these images, the cars have been taken apart and then, piece by piece was photographed in a specific position to create the illusion of an exploding car.

Each image took nearly three weeks to create, as Fabian sketched, modeled, and then photographed over 1000 parts per vehicle. Check out the video which showcases his process, and then the fruits of his labor below.
