Exploring Mazda in South Carolina
Mazda has a well-earned reputation of making vehicles that are fun to drive, and it’s not an accident. The driver and the perfect drive are at the center of everything that Mazda does. Last month they invited us to Montage Palmetto Bluff, near Hilton Head, SC, to get better acquainted with the brand and their current lineup of vehicles. With the exception of the new MX-5, it’s been a couple of years since we’ve driven anything from Mazda, so we looked forward to getting some seat time, and were immediately impressed with the latest updates coming out of Hiroshima, Japan.
After driving everything that Mazda has to offer, the new CX-9 was of particular note, with a significantly improved interior over the model we drove back in 2013. The updated cabin includes premium materials like aluminum, leather, and real wood. The wood is so glorious, we only wish they had used more of it. We put the CX-9 to the test in our morning drive, and thoroughly enjoyed the new infotainment system. The exterior curves have also been updated on the CX-9, and overall the Mazda lineup has a pleasantly cohesive and unique design language.
While the event didn’t provide enough time behind the wheel of any particular model for a full review, it did allow us to sample everything that Mazda has to offer and become more familiar with the brand. After being immersed in charming southern coastal culture for two days, we were inspired to put together this quick video to give you a taste of what it was like to #ExploreMazda in South Carolina.
